Meet the founder

This isn't just
a gym.

Move Detroit started long before we ever opened our doors.

The idea was born in January 2024 from a simple belief: fitness should be about more than workouts. It should be about belonging to a community of people who inspire one another, hold each other accountable, and become better together.

Too many people saw the gym as an intimidating place. They didn't need another membership—they needed a plan. They needed coaching. They needed people in their corner. Most importantly, they needed a community that genuinely cared about their success.

That belief became the foundation of Move Detroit.

Like many entrepreneurs, I spent years chasing what felt like the "safe" path. While working full-time in a physical therapy clinic, I was building Move Detroit in every spare moment I had. It wasn't easy balancing multiple jobs while trying to grow a business, but every conversation with a member, every breakthrough, and every transformation reinforced that this was the work I was meant to do.

When we officially opened our first brick-and-mortar location in January 2025, the vision became reality.

From day one, my goal has never been to build just another gym. It has been to build a place where people actually want to show up—a place where coaching is personal, leadership is authentic, and every member feels seen, supported, and challenged to become the strongest version of themselves.

Common questions

Good to know.

Today, Move Detroit has evolved into one of Metro Detroit's most unique fitness communities. We blend evidence-based coaching with strength training, recovery, live DJ experiences, community events, and local partnerships to create an environment that feels unlike anywhere else.

MOVE DETROIT is truly a one stop shop for all your health and wellness needs. Our mission is to provide the most value possible to each and every person that walks through our door. No cookie cutter programming. No gimmicks. All ages. All community. All movement.

Our members aren't professional athletes. They're busy professionals, parents, and everyday people—many over the age of 30—who may have spent years believing the gym simply wasn't for them. They don't need another fitness trend. They need a blueprint that's built around their goals, a coach who genuinely cares, and a community that refuses to let them give up on themselves.

That's what Move Detroit is here to provide.

Whether your goal is to lose weight, build strength, improve your health, or simply regain confidence in yourself, our mission is the same: to make fitness approachable, results-driven, and something you genuinely look forward to.

Because when people feel comfortable, welcomed, and supported, incredible things happen.
