Emily
Homan
Emily brings a unique combination of creativity, athletics, and marketing to the Move Detroit team. She is currently a senior at Wayne State University, majoring in Marketing with a minor in Sport Management, while also competing as a member of the WSU Women’s Basketball Team.
Growing up surrounded by team sports, fitness has always played an important role in Emily’s life. As she’s gotten older, that relationship has evolved beyond competition into prioritizing her own physical and mental well-being. Experiencing firsthand the positive impact fitness can have inspired her to help others develop a healthy and sustainable relationship with it as well.
As Move Detroit’s Social Media Manager, Emily helps bring the personality of MD beyond the walls of the gym. Through content, storytelling, and capturing the moments that make the community special, her goal is to show that fitness can be welcoming, positive, and accessible to anyone.
What initially drew Emily to Move Detroit was the energy and real sense of community she experienced firsthand. Now, she gets to help tell that story and showcase the people, relationships, and experiences that make it unique.
Emily’s approach is about capturing more than workouts. It’s about showing the people, progress, and moments that make Move Detroit feel like a community worth being part of.
